The Salvation Army Window -
for the renovated complex on Fort Street in downtown Detroit -
this window is housed in the new chapel.

The work began with a series of negotiations with architects, builders, and the Salvation Army.
It was completed in late 2006, and installed before the rest of the building was complete.
Bill stands 6 feet tall, so you can see how large the window is.
He built a special crate to transport the finished piece, which we drove back to retrieve after installation.

From the outside, the window is dwarfed by the height of the chapel and the enormity of the building itself.
The chapel is located on the fifth floor.

The Salvation Army is located next to Detroit's main Post Office, near the riverfront.

We hope the window will inspire those who are down on their luck with its magnificence.
